How can I know for sure it is the light switch causing my tail lights not to go on?

I have a 1990 Dodge Caravan. The tail lights, parking lights and dash lights do not go on. The headlights and brakelights work fine.I know it is not a fuse problem.(replaced those) I got a new brake light switch (it is a little black box with a switch

The headlight has a relay, but you say the headlights work?

Could be the headlight switch. Really have to pull it and check with a meter. Double check fuses. Does this vehicle have a trailer connector on it that could be shorted?
