can you remove the engine from a generator?

i have a 3500 porta cable generator that isnt working so i wanted to take the 6.5hp honda engine off toput it to different use. but i dont know if you can take it off. CAN I ?? . THANKS

It should be relatively simple to remove the generator end from the engine. Likely the trickiest part will be removing the rotor from the engine shaft. It is held onto the tapered shaft and will not fall away just by unbolting. You will need to remove
