What year is the North American equivalent of the 2008 Honda Fit made for the Japanese market?

I want to purchase from the US a cargo cover for my 2008 Japanese market Fit, but not sure whether I should buy the one for the North American 2008 or 2009 model.

Good catch. The '08 Fit in the States was a first-generation model; the second-generation version didn't come to North America until '09, so that's the one you'd want to match your second-generation Japanese Fit.
